Ok guys...It looks like I have finally got my 2001 Trans Am sold this Friday. I am torn between getting a 03-04 Cobra or and Evo. I have wanted a Cobra since before I got my ws6 which was over 4 1/2 years ago. But something in the back of my mind keeps telling me to get something more practical, something that I can daily drive. (I have an 01 Sunfire I DD to and from work)BUT I am still torn between getting an Evo or an 03-04 Cobra. Convince me why I should get the Evo over the Cobra!! I mean I REALLY want the cobra but I dont want to be stuck paying for something I dont ever drive. I very rarely drive the WS6. It just sits in the garage. Thats why Im selling it. I just want a car that I can go out and have a blast every time I drive it. The only time I enjoy the WS6 is when im smashing the gas pedal and I wonder if the Cobra will be the same. Convince me and make me believe that buying the Evo will not be a mistake over the Cobra!!!

ok, so with the evo you have a 4 door car that gets decent gas mileage that will easily run 12s with a little money. plus it has the awd and handles better than any car ive ever expirienced. with the cobra you have a 2 door coupe, limited back seat room. gets bad gas mileage and doesnt handle nearly as well as the evo(those backroad trips wont be as fun :P). but on the up side the car will be a beast on the strip with just a pulley and some nice tires. both are great cars, but the evo wins in my book. hope that helps lol

Since you need convincing, I would say you really don't want a Cobra. Probably not even an Evo. Think of a car you want without a doubt otherwise you will never be satisfied. Take it from me.. IS300 for 6 months before I went to an Evo.

To be honest its really what type of car do you want? The cobra can get 5-550hp and 500tq with 2-3k put into it. Downside is everyone and there grandmother owns a version of a mustang. Evo is an outstanding car, its not something you see on the road all the time. Really just go with what you want, anytime someone compares a Muscle car to the Evo I see no point. The "apples and oranges" really is how to view it. Both have there own pros and cons. Just go with what you want and will enjoy.

I love how, with mustangs, you always run into those people at the local mart (grocery or gas) who always see you getting out of your clean mustang, and just HAVE to run up and say "I have one too!"

The mustang is a "Me too!" car. I can't stand them. It's a shame, because I really do like some of the mustangs.

I've owned 2 Evos, the SE purchased as a keeper, and I've never recommend the car to a single individual. Why? Because, I've yet to meet anyone who is right for it and vice versa. As you ask to be convinced, perhaps there are other avenues to explore. Good luck.

I would take an Evo over a cobra any day. It comes down to what you prefer however. I have seen som really ballsy mustangs, can't really get that effect with an evo, but you can get the speed to blow a cobra out the water.
