is this fuel pump legit?

sorry if repost, I searched and couldnt find anything about Autoteq.

it looks like a walbro 255 clone

is this thing worth it? $65.

i had a bosch 044 in my last car. The supply line ruptured once, and left me stranded in the middle of the street, so I know how much it sucks to have fuel problems. LOL! wonder if this pump is reliable.

Honestly, the walbro is cheap enough that I wouldn't risk this. I looked at these a few months ago when I was pump shopping, and I couldn't find any information on these from all of the forums I looked at, including Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and DSM ones. You're more than welcome to be a guinea pig if you want, but you can get new Walbro's for around $90 shipped, which I think is a much safer choice since its been proven several times over.

You can find a walbro with a hotwire kit for like 95 bucks shipped.

Don't go cheap on fuel, bro.

+1 for good prices, you can find genuine walbro's for less than $100 shipped with an install kit all day on ebay. But, I would suggest having a reputable seller (STM, MAP, buschur, etc.) that offers price matching match the ebay seller's price and get it through them. We should always support our sponsors when possible

Don't even need the install kit or any wiring. Walbro pump is plug'n'play for our cars.

Look like he has a VR4 and on the DSMs/VR4s, most kids re wired their walbros for more power and flow.

But correct. FOr teh evo, you dont need anythying, its plug and ply and you dont need the install kit, unless you want a new filter, etc.

thanks guys. I had no idea the walbro was only $90! LOL

that bosch 044 ran me ~$400 something a few years ago... I chose it over the walbro as the bosch was supposed to be quieter.

for 90 though, I guess ill deal with the whine. thanks guys.

So has anyone here ever though of running the walbro out of the new ford gt's? My double pump kit came with a walbro out of a ford gt and I did a little research on it. Don't remember exactly but they are advertise to flow over 400lph. Ford gt's can easily push over 600hp out of the stock fuel pump so I don't see why one of those in an Evo wouldnt do the same. The pump it's self is chubbier and shorter than the 255 but I'm sure if needed someone could make an adapter kit.
