I think your wasting your time(lots of time) with a dremel . An electric or air die grinder is more suited. You can buy decent bur tools with the die grinder.

or buy an pneumatic dremel. That is a die grinder with the right head, dremel is mainly a name brand. I saw a couple nice ones at sears last week.

gasket matching is definitely the way to go, the one mistake most guys make though is "guessing" as to wear to stop and going to far, or not taking into account a walls thickness and burning a hole right through it!
