It might not even be leagal to register this car in the US, I would do a significant amount of research before purchasing a car like this.

is this private seller or dealer?
TxEvo8 might be right. I believe you will have problems registering the car if its private seller. If its a dealer then talk to them. have them register it. I dont see it being priced above 10k. somewhere in that area

yea its a private seller. he says that it is not street legal at the moment because he doesnt have the paperwork but told me he sent in the paperwork last week. i wouldnt think it would be that hard to get a car registered but i may be wrong. i have never bought an imported car like this so i am new and dont really know all that much in this area. i have tried researching everything but have been coming up empty handed everytime

The only way this could sound shadier is if the seller is Nigerian.

Do a lot of research before you buy it. Check with your local laws and title department and try to get as much info as you can. Would be a huge let down to buy a car then not be able to drive it. At worst you would have a track car!

Buy the car. If it ends up unable to be registered transfer all the parts to a Mirage. You can find a non-running one for under $1k easily. That's basically what I'm doing, except piece by piece, and I'm past the 8k mark right now.
