Stories on what made you get "that EVO"

Don't have one yet but SOOOON hopefully I will. However, loved the sound of the WRX from the first day I heard it back in 02. I knew I had to have one and then in 06 bought one. Four years later... tired of being slow and ready to move to the dark side and get an EVO

You're right... dang.... I dont know how I botched that up... guess I really dont know why I got the Evo VII... but, I do... and I love it... and when I meet up with other Evo owners, its still EVO VII FTW!!! LoL
No... but seriously... I do love my car. Its not the fastest Evo... or the coolest looking Evo... but it is MY Evo and I never had to make payments... bought it out cash and had it ever since...

I had an 04 Evo when I was stationed in Guam but had to sell it. I had my 350z still and was happy with it until a drunk driver rear ended me at a stop light. The car was totaled so I started looking around for an Evo 8 when I came across the one I have now. I chose this one because it is my favorite color and the date of manufacter on the door seal is the same as my birth day! I thought it was ment to be!

My girlfriend has a Evo X...she put a new twin clutch in. So, she had to break it in. She, said I could take it for a drive to help break it in. Nine hours and 300 miles later and the clutch was broken in and I was addicted. Three months later I bought my 8. Two months later and 15+ grand was at 500+ horsepower. One month after that blew a whole in the block.
I love this car!!! I had no idea what I was miss till I drove an Evo.

As funny as it may sound, I bought myself Need for Speed Most Wanted during Christmas of 2005, and as I was checking out the cars in the game, I came across a WW Evo IX and the looks of the car just had me admiring it for a long time, until I decided that one day, I would have to own one. Well, it took about 4 and a half years, not to mention almost being sidetracked by wanting a STI and then, a S2000, but I finally picked up my Evo IX in late June of this year and its been great 
damn dude this is the same thing with me!!!!!! except not wanting an S2K and not finding a WW IX yet but its dead on! No Evo yet tho but still looking! interesting stories tho!
im a HUGE rotary guy, having owned 14 rx7's (currently have a 1990 vert), i went to the mitsu dealer to buy a newish rx8 as a daily driver... it sold right before i got there... and as i was leaving, the GM of the dealer asked if i liked evos (uhhh duh!) and said he could give me a killer deal on a NEW evo 9 RS for nearly the same price as the used rx8.... so i got the evo RS for $25k brand new 
the rest is history...lol.. i sold 5 of my rx7s i had sitting around (including my show/street car rx7) and threw the cash into my evo
so i went from this..... (500rwhp 1991 rx7)
to this (the day after i bought her....she looks far different now)
