All I know is that a 4" exhaust tip is a PERFECT fit for the bumper hole for the exhaust. The hole measures 5" but to be safe (no melting or anything) u gotta leave like 0.5" of space between the tip and any part of the bumper hole.

I hear the Greddy Evo exhaust is the nicest sounding and fits damn near perfect (4" tip) on our lancers.

Any bigger an exhaust tip, and you'll be treading into ricer-dom. As Kareem said, 4 inches is plenty. I'd recommend the Greddy, RRM 's new axle-back, or the Buschur catback. One of those three should do ya good.

I look at it this way - all three of the mufflers I mentioned work the same way (straight through, not much restriction). They aren't round like that, but who cares? The muffler is under the car, so no one really sees it. But if you want one of those, just go on Ebay or to Summit and get a universal one. You can rig up a custom exhaust.

That style is the APEXi N1. It has been very popular and very much copied. I have an APEXi exhaust system and they do get spendy $600 plus...but most people just buy knock offs (muffler only) and get it welded on to their "stick" exhaust. Go with what one of teh other posters said and get a catback..you will just have to spend a bit more money but I might think you would be happier with it in the long run. If you want that deep growl you will not get it with just replacing the muffler, you are going to end up with that annoying buzzing sound. Ya know doing 20mph sounding like a bumble bee traveling at 80mph. Just some advice for ya.

any kind of muffler can be installed on your car, just becarefull what you ask for because you could just pick one and they will install it and then it might end up bruning your bumper. if its a custom job, make sure you go with nothing higher than 2.5" because you lose torque any bigger without a turbo installed. i have 2.25" on mine.

i thought people were having problems with the greddy burning/melting their bumper. or was this just a hanging problem? the new magnaflow cat back just came out so im gonna go for that since i so very much love the magnaflow axelback i currently have.

www.greddy.com has some pics. RRM, www.roadracemotorsports.com , sells the Greddy Evo Cat Back. I'm trying to get my friend to get me a good deal on one right now...

I put a titanium muffler on my lancer but the Greddy muffler is offset to make it look better and not drag on dips.
