The driver side input shaft seal on my evo was leaking and i had gotten it fixed but the mechanic who fixed had said the transmission was about 8 ounces low on fluid. Is this like terribly low and could have done any damage or is it alright since it was caught early and not run for long with the fluid that low?

 

according to the factory manual:
trans: 2.9 quarts
tcase: .58 quarts

8 US fluid ounces = 0.25 US quarts
