I believe you its the other people I don't believe. I'm pretty sure the evo windshield is lighter than the lancer because my buddy got his replaced and the Guy even said it felt lighter but we didn't have a scale to prove it.

 

Got a 2003 Evo 8 got my windshield replaced and what they ordered didn't fit. Their system only showed a 2003 Lancer had to have the glass company order oem.

 

When I had my Evo VIII I had to get the windshield replaced, I was told that the Evo windshield was thinner by the dealership. I just went with the regular Lancer windshield..

 

Thanks for contributing to my thread I feel the lancer wont crack as easy then? Ill go that route in the summer when I get mine replaced.

 

At this point I think we all know the Evo windshield is lighter than the base Lancer windshield. I just got my windshield replaced and the Safelight guy just said to me that the original windshield that he removed from my car felt a lot lighter than a standard windshield. I have to believe him considering he is lifting these things all day long. The thickness looks the same but we didn't have calipers to measure. Just one more data point.

If I have to do this again I want to order the OEM windshield to keep the car stock.
