Questions

Very new to evo bought a 03 two weeks ago
Which is the best BOV ? for 24 psi of boost EVO IX or after market?
Is turbo timer necessary ?
Which Turbo timer is best? HKS Greddy or Apexi
My evo has a catless exhaust system and cel is on can i replace the cat with a perrin high flow cat and how badly will this affect performance
Whats the advantage of using a perrin high flow fuel rail ?
Thanks in advance

In my experience, a turbo timer is not necessary on a liquid/oil cooled turbo. If you want to use one all three of the brands you listed should be fine. I have used the Greddy myself and it worked ok, but was a PITA to get it to work with the security system. A HFC shouldn't affect performance too much.

I dont know which bov is the best. I think the stock one would be from the MR since its maid out of metal and not plastic or the hks. The turbotimer really isnt necessary if you like waiting with your car for like 2-3 minutes to let it cool down some then turn it off.

If you are lazy like that the turbo time is supposed to cool down the car for you once the key is removed to turn the car off automatically after a certain amount of time. This is for the people who really dont have the time or are just lazy about it.

You car has a catless exhaust that is good. Now you say your car has a check engine light thats bad. I would honestly get that check engine light investigated first see what it is and have it looked into correctly and corrected. The cat wont really change performance like that to a certain degree it depends on the whole exhaust I would go catless honestly. Try to worry about maintenance first before you mod the car. You never know who last had it and what it went through and you want to keep it up to par work on that first.

Hey welcome to the forums, if you do a quick search you will find answers to all your questions and more... honestly you need to read and read some more because the mods you plan to do are not the best/first ones to do.
Get the metal IX dv (BOV), no need to change fuel rail at all. Why do you want a HFC? is it only because of the cel? get a cel fix (extend o2 sensor out of the exhaust flow) any cat, even a HFC will have some sort of restriction vs. a straight pipe.
Try to find a thread named evo modding for dummies for real that will put you in the right path.

Thanks for the info guys just trying to figure what i can do to make things better and maintain reliability car dynoed at 320whp
My car has trhe following
HKS 272 cams
Tublar Exh Manifold
MBC set for 20 PSI
Aftermarket 3 inch IC
3 inch Titainium Exh Catless
Hard pipe from IC to intake
DBA4000 rotors front and back
ACT clutch and pressure plate
lowered on tien springs
Bought it with the above mods
If there is any thing i can improve feel free to offer you suggestions the reason for wanting the perrin high flow fuel rail was to reduce pulsations (will be adding ams flexible fuel line ) the mbc is one you would find in a paint shop can get a burshur mbc or a hks 5 ebc any ideas ?

If you want reliability, you should stop modding your car. The more stuff you add on the more potential for problems. Just as a friendly advice.

You can get a stock Evo IX Bov , wich is good and is the cheapest

You will want to get a recirc BOV also if you want to go aftermarket :

Tial QR
Aps Dual Vent
Forge Rs

I Have heard those are good

I have the tial QR myself good BOV

On the turbo timer any will do i think , I have a greedy turbo timer and is good , it also records your highest speed and has a volt meter and few other knick knacks

Its not a must but is fun to have if you can spare the change for it

Its a Baller lol
