New to this forum. NJ. looking for guidance already !! lol

Hello everyone my name is Brian. I drive a silver evo ix and i currently stock besides an intake and exhaust. New to the Evo scene but not new to modding cars. Definatly want to be in the 350-400 HP range. was thinking more of the lines of

Intake
Exhaust
02 dump
injectors
STOCK turbo
Cams...i heard the csc stage 1's were the best match? any truth?
lower intercooler piping
manual boost controller
boost,wideband, scan gauge
fuel pump

i was told the upgraded intercooler would be a waste for NJ weather and that the upper IC pipe doenst really do much besides spool time

im all about not doing wasteful mods. like if a upper intercooler pipe for example gave me 2whp for 300 bucks...thats pointless to me..you know what im saying? best bang for my buck is what im looking for but daily drivability and reliablilty is main importance.

if anyone has anything to add please do so. are any of my mods useless or not to helpful for what im doing?

like i said im new to modding my evo and would greatly appreciate some insight from some Veterans

thanks alot and thanks in advanced!!!!

I would still do the intercooler, it gets hot during the summer here in the northeast, don't let all this snow fool ya.

You are on the right track for 350-400 on a IX.

i had that happen a long time with me and a car. its like when did dealerships become shady used car dealers?!

Welcome, I'm from brick/toms river, nj. I would start with intercooler, full piping, turbo back, boost controller, fuel pump and a tune from Ivey. Cams are always a good choice, my vote would be gsc s2's or kelford 272's.

I'm confused why you say stage 2 cams it says the stage 2 cams are recommended like gt42 lol. And in their which cams to buy on their website it says to get stage 1 for stock turbo.

Whalecum Matt!

what up what up what up?

I work in Wayne but live in Rutherford.

Here is what I would do if I was starting from scratch.

Perrin Intake
ETS LP2 LICP OR JMF/CBRD LICP
Depending on what kind of battery setup you want to run:
ETS UICP for Stock Battery OR CBRD UICP (CBRD has their own stock battery tray that works with their UICP)
MAP Ported Exhaust Manifold
MAP/TiTek O2 Housing
TiTek Downpipe
3" catless exhaust (unless you want to keep a cat, then I'd run a Mil.Spec race cat)
GSC S2 Camshafts (S1's are a complete waste of time)
Kiggly Springs
Depending on what Boost Control you want to run:
Hallman Pro MBC
OR
OmniPower 4bar MAP Sensor
GrimmSpeed 3-port Boost Solenoid
For injectors, assuming you might move on to an upgraded stock frame turbo:
PTE 1000cc Low Impedance (same as stock)
OR
FIC 900cc High Impedance or FIC 1100cc High Impedance (Need to run the Spoolin'Up High-Z Injector Resistor Pack Bypass instead of cutting your resistor box out)
If you run the High Impedance injectors, you'll need to find a tuner that has the patience/know how to tune them. Some don't like to mess with/figure them out.

That's what I would do if I started over again.

IDK where you saw that a Stage 2 cam would be for a GT42. That would be the first time I've heard that considering most companies have a Stage 3 camshaft which is even more aggressive and GT42 wouldn't be on anything other than a full out race car.

GSC S2's
Kelford 272's
FP4R's

Those are all pretty much on the same playing field and are honestly the only cams I'd ever consider. GSC S2's being my preference.
