NOOB from Texas

Hello guys.. i just picked up a 2006 EVO IX MR last thursday.. first time owning one so i am very new to it... i was drivin a 350z before, and now i sold it to my brother... i hope to learn more about it around this forum... i am looking to just add the bolt ons for now, until i pay more of it off.

Its a graphite grey.. has aftermarket clutch, exhaust, boost controller and turbo timer..

i think the clutch wasnt aligned right or the throwout bearing went out.. 3rd grinds a lil when i engage n sometime 4th. sometime i need to press the clutch really hard in to get them to engage some what smooth. i know 6spds are ****... but if it is a tranny i got another 6spd so might jus swap it it for now till i can afford a nice 5spd one ..

here are my steps for bolt ons.. plz chime in if i should get a better list..

Injen upper, lower intercooler piping, and intake
Buschur.. TBE.. (does it have an option as into TP or is it just HFC?) thanks
JDM MR BOV (stock is fluttering)
ECU reflash ( i have the wiring for it. i heard there is an ecu reflash around here on the net is that true?)
swap out clutch or throw out bearing... or tranny and centerforce clutch.

any info on the above list or directions i would b thankful...
PICS UP

Welcome, sounds like a good car. if the gears are grinding its most likely the trans. throwout bearings just get really loud and screechy when they go out. there are stock ecu "flashes" but its a full tune system. look under ecuflash in the lower evo forums there a write up for how to tune an evo.

Open your hood and take a look at the oem bov. Is it metal? If yes, then you already have the "jdm MR bov". Evo IX's came with these standard.

If your bov is plastic, then yes consider an upgrade. Evo VIII's had plastic bovs that were more prone to leak.

Welcome and enjoy the evo!

Just the way it is man. It's normal. Anytime you add on an aftermarket or hell even the stock intake. Its going to sound like it's fluttering

Lol you dumbass. Hahah that's pretty funny. You said you had a tactrix cable?

Injen is garbage. Jus get a bushur racing intake/ filter. Only intercooler piping you really need is the lower. Go with ets or ams lower piping

As far as tbe. Get anything that's a full 3 inch bushur is pretty good. But loud as helll
But you mentioned it has an exhaust already?

You might as well get an intercooler to. Ams/ ets is good

As far as clutch goes. Just get an exedy twin
And call it a day
