Why turbo, why 4doors?

Hi, I am just curious as to why rally cars-from Mitsu to Subie to Peugout to Citron-seem to be using turbos? Why do they not use supercharged cars, or bigger displacement engines. In addition, why do some manufacturers use 4 doors instead of 2? Are there functional reasons or is it more design? I'd appreciate the answers guys, these issues always made me wonder.

A turbo has better top-end power and the WRC has regulations on engine displacement, the limit being 2.0 liters. Why 4 doors? You got me on that one.

This may be too silly of a question in addition to the two I posed, but what are the reasons for engine displacement regulations. I understand that it presereves a certain level of competitiveness, a standard from which to rely upon. Are these 2.0 leter engines running with turbos the best possible setups for a rally setting with snow, mud, dirt, gravel, and the twisties?

That's not true I've seen two door rally cars. The Ford focus being one.
