Newbie here, question about knocking during turn

Hey Guys,

I've owned my Evo about 2 months. It's a 2006 MR. I've noticed that during slow turns I can hear/feel a click or knock coming from what feels like the front left tire. Any ideas on what it might be? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Bad CV joint. Check axle for play while in neutral and jacked up if possible

That I can definitely do. Thanks a lot! Do you know how much they normally run?

I had the same exact issue, knocking noise / clicking during left turns (common problem with Evos that have a good amount of miles on them). The solution to your problem is in the strut / strut mount. You must replace the left front strut and mount. It sounds like an axle issue because its usually only when your turning to one specific side.

I haven't noticed if it's only when turning to one side or not. I'll definitely take notice when I get out of work tonight. She only has 64,000 on her though.

Could be the mount as well. See if it clicks faster as you accelerate, or if it just stays the same.

On my IX, I get more of a rubbing sound. Would this be the same issue?

Like some have mentioned. I'd check the axle and wheel bearing on that side first.

i lifted the left side up and checked for any wheel wobble by using the 12 and 6 o'clock method and the wheel didnt move at all. then i took the wheel off and the this is what it looked like.

i checked to see if there was any rubbing on the plastic but no signs of rubbing. i then checked the axle it looks to be all in one piece, no cracks or bends. i then checked the boot for any leaks or tears and all is fine.
any ideas??

As another poster mentioned, did you check your CV joint?

bad cv joints, i have an 2003 evo8 and i have to look-see and fix what it is. go slower on turns and you wont hear it. if u can hear it then you're turning too sharp and too fast.
