2011 gsr only revs to 5500 rpms?

Okay so I noticed that something must be wrong so I revved the car and it stopped at 5500 rpms and bounced. But when I let off the cars rpms came down to about 3k and just held there for about 5 seconds? Anybody have any problems with this or know of anything about it?

Thanks for any input in advance

The bouncing of 5.5 is normal in first. That's 2-step for launching. The hang part sounds like something is up though.

Okay I was figuring that it was for a launch control/2- step but yeah the part where it just was sitting at 3k was the real thing that worried me.

Maybe because you engaged launch mode but didnt launch the car it got confused.

I think the hang part is part of emissions control programmed into the ecu.

When ever you rev it hard in neutral or with the clutch in, the revs will take much longer than usual to drop because the car is burning off the excess gas I believe, though hanging at any one RPM doesn't sounds normal...

I don't know why everybody, not directed at the op who started the thread, *****es about the "rev hang". It's not that big of a deal. If you ever think the revs are taking too long to come down just pump the clutch. Pushing the clutch brings it back down. It's programmed in to help emissions.

The cars have a built in 2step at 5500 rpms. The hang is normal.
