Post Lancer Now or Wait?

Hi to everybody

I came across this website from one of the ebay's seller, looks like a very decent website, full of good people, think I'm here to stay.

On to my question, I went to the dealer today and checked out the new 2002 Lancer OZ, looks very nice, drives excellent. But after reading the confusing Evo 7 or 8's new design articles, I'm kind of hesitate to make the purchase now. Should I wait to purchase the Lancer? Or it doesn't really matter?

If I interpreted the information in the apexjapan article correctly, there is a new Lancer for 2003 in US? So should I wait and purchase the new version?

Which ones are the Evolutions? I know the evolution series are only available in japan, which evolution is the one in US right now then? The article/messages I read didn't have pictures, thats why I was really confused.

If I purchased the 2002 US Lancer OZ right now, is there a kit to make it looked like this one in the picture?

I went to the Accolade website (www.body-kits.com) I'm not sure if the Evolution VII Hyper kit they had was designed for japan's Evolution series or is it a conversion kit for the US 2002 Lancer?

The picture that you have a link to is an Evo VII. No Evo's are in the U.S. yet, except for people that import them individually. No one is really sure when Evo's will be sold in the U.S. All Evo's are turbo charged and 4WD. They are extremely fast. The 2002 Lancers here in the U.S. are based off of the Evo VII. 2002 Lancers don't have turbos and are not 4WD. They are much slower. They cost about half as much as Evo's.
You can buy a body kit from http://www.sharkracing.com to make a 2002 Lancer look like the Evo VII. If you want a cool and decent car to cruise in, get a 2002 Lancer. If you want a crazy fast car, then get a Evo.

Ok...well, first, to clarify quickly, the Lancer is not based on the Evo, but the Evo is based upon the Lancer Cedia, a Japanese version of the US Lancer. Regarless, if you've got patience and money to spend, by all means wait for the US Evo. It'll have roughly the same interior as the current Lancer while also being significantly more powerful, having AWD...but other than that, the confirmed info on it is close to nil. Check out the Rumor Forum for the all sorts of interesting speculation.
