Help me with my mod list

I'm looking to do a few things to my Evo. The wife finally gave me the green light to mod it after I recently sold my other weekend toy.

It is a 2006 Evo IX MR with 28,000 miles. Bone stock right now other than a head unit and a base flash from AMS.

The Evo will be a daily driver. Since it has to drive through Chicago's hot summers and cold winters, I'm not looking to go too crazy, but I want to make sure I get a significant return and most importantly, I want things done right.

Here is what I am thinking:

AMS TBE (open to suggestions want something quiet)
AMS FMIC (also open to suggestions, but don't want to cut the bumper)
AMS Lower IC piping
Megan O2 housing
MBC
Boost + wideband o2 gauges
Walbro 255 Fuel pump
780cc injectors
Drop in air filter
FP Green
Dyno tune

Is it worth it to do cams as well at this point? Let me know what you guys think?

If I were to start from the beginning again I would go with the following...

AMS TBE
ETS 3.8" Garrett core
ETS licp
MAP o2 housing
ECU boost control with 3-port
Walbro 255 or Deatschwerks pump
PTE 1000-1200 injectors or FIC 1450cc injectors
Perrin intake filter with a 3" maf pipe
GSC S2 cams with beehives
Head studs

+1 on the headstuds.

The turbo will give more gains than doing the cams. If you need more power after the turbo install, you can always add cams later.

take it slow at first --- it'll definitely be more fulfilling in the long run and you can gauge the 'gains' better

How so?

If you do it once and do it the right way, you don't have to pay for a new tune every time a mod is added. I already have a baseline, and intend to get it properly dyno tuned.

Good advice on the head studs. Right now, I'm leaning towards cams as well.

Yeah, I just have had bad personal experience about getting excited about modding and then when it was all installed (at once) and ready to rip, I was underwhelmed ---- wanted more, ended up moving on to another ride soon after....

but to each their own --- it looks like you have a good plan going....

Sounds like a good mod list. ETS makes great products and they're relativley cheap. Oh and If you want and AMS exhaust Ive heard and read that the exhaust is definently not quiet

If durability and longevity are of concern, I'd say stick with the stock turbo, go cams/springs and and studs.

I am by no means an expert. My preference is simply cams before turbo upgrade. This way you're milking everything you can out of the existing setup, and are better suited to upgrade the turbo at that point if you find your setup insufficient.

I agree with this mod list. I am also a dealer for ETS if you need help with any parts, I can help you with your other mods as well, just let me know.

I am not a fan of the Deatschwerks pump and reccommend FIC 1450s so you won't have to upgrade in the future in case you go E85

Pretty solid list. Also, checkout the CBRD FMIC. They use the Garrett 3.8" core also and no cutting of your bumper is required.
