I think that the 8 has the nasty interior and no Mivec the 9 has the better interior and it could have stuck with the 8 front bumper but the X looks so mean in the front like it wants to eat small children lol. The X is def the best option of the 3 even at first I hated the tails then just kind of fell in love with em

If you want a 8 or 9, I would let the condition/cost be the deciding factor.
The front bumper is subjective, and interior is the same. The SSL interior is as nice as it gets, which you can get in both.
The advantages are the turbo and Mivec, which didn't deter me from getting an 8.

For a DD the X is a good choice, although it lacks a real trunk, and you will be mistaken for a base lancer all the time.

IX SSL FTW.

Personal preference...
Change the front to the VIII front and have a JDM Rear.
That is all.

I agree with this here... I don't get why people are so keyed on the IX's Mivec and Bigger Turbo if the OP IS NOT GOING TO MOD THE CAR This is not going to matter. What is going to matter is money. If you shop for a clean IX, be ready to pay some ching and I am talking closer to used 08 X GSR pricing. You can pick up an VIII for dirt cheap. The down side to this is that you will probably have to put some money into the car since it may need some work or maintenance due to it being older and probably higher mileage.

Yes the IX is a better package than the VIII, but really if you swap front bumpers and interior, then really for OP, the cars will be no different.

Yes it will, just not by a huge amount. It matters most if people intend to do bolt-ons and tunes, whereas modding to the point where the turbos get upgraded won't have huge differences due to MIVEC alone. But stock for stock, the IX does have better pickup before boost kicks in. To some people, particularly people who are going to stay stock or mod very little (such as the OP), this will be a welcomed difference.

Well, like I said, you'll notice the difference between 2000-3000 rpm (which you'll see in a daily driven vehicle), and even if you just "swap front bumpers and interior," those two things alone are rather significant differences (as both parts look very different from one another) that would cost a lot to change if you were to do it anyway.

Bought an 8 with loads of miles:

Had to change:

HVAC
Heater Core
Condenser A/C
Bushings ++
Tie rods, Ball joints
2 wheel bearings
Paint front/rear bumper, new wing
02 sensors

The list goes on....and on.

If I would do it again I would just pay more and get an IX to keep it for a very long time.
