2011 MR vs. 2008/2010 MR

Hello to everyone at the evolutionm forums! I would like to start my first post of with a quick introduction.
Two years ago I bought a rotor glow ralliart. After looking for a community to provide information on my new car, I ran into this forum and have enjoyed the members insights ever since. I then became fascinated with all things Evo, and decided to step up and buy a 2011 WW MR.
My main reason for buying a '11 over a '10 is that I have read posts on evolutionm and evoxforums about the performance increases of the 2011's stock mapping. However these posts have largely concerned only the 2011 mapping's affect on the GSR trim, such as the posts: "2010 vs 2011 Evo X GSR: Same Stock Ecu Power?" and "2011 GSR vs 2010 GSR . Need your opinion!!Asap" I have not been able to find a single thread on evolutionm nor the evoxforums nor any automotive forum period about the straightline performance of the 2011 MR vs previous MR models. Knowing that in the past (08-10) stock MR's have had 0-60 numbers in the range of 4.6 and up, I am curious particularly as to the 2011 factory tunes effect on the straightline performance of 2011 MR. Particularily the base model with no sunroof, or RF audio system, bascially an SE with even lighter wheels. Has anyone gotten any 0-60, 1/4 mile numbers for their stock 2011 MR's? Based on the performance increases seen in 2011 GSR's, the 2011 MR should see similar gains right?

if you mod your MR as most do none of the stock numbers matter at all if you plan on modding it then again none of that matters. So just buy one within your price range that your comfortable with and mod it to your will

Thanks for all of your info. I would like to mod if the cobb AP for 2011 ever comes out. But if your saying, same car across the board, couldn't I just use the cobb ap for 2010?

I was under the impression that Cobb isn't going to mess with the Evos much anymore, since the AccessPort for the Evo was delayed several times then went out of production rather quickly. Unless you really want to switch maps on the fly, you'd be better off just getting a custom tune.

Welcome to the forums.

So thats it? 08-10 evo owners get the AP but 2011 X owners can't have it? So what do I do if I want to be able to swap my aftermarket tune to the factory when I take my car to the dealer for service?

I was referring more to the VIIIs and IXs, regarding the AccessPort. Looking at their site, it looks like they're still doing it for the current Xs.

If you just get a custom tune, you can either flash it back to stock if you have the factory tune saved (which you or your tuner should), but more than likely you can leave it the way it is since it's not as if your dealership is going to check it that thoroughly. I'd be more concerned with more visually obvious mods.
