Cool Thinking about getting an evo

Names brad.
Had a 95 Integra GSR but I sold that and im thinking about purchasing a 03 Evo.

How reliable are they? What are some "big" expenses that I might come across in buying an older/used evo? Running costs?

Looking into an 03 stock evo with 79k miles for $14000 OR an 05 stock evo with 69000 for $18000

If you guys can help me or point me in the right direction that would be great!!

It's hard to say, if you're buying one pre-owned, as it will really depend on how well it was maintained by the previous owner. But so far, the ones that get taken care of seem to be lasting long. 4RETECH bought a used 2003 and hit over 200k miles before having any issues (and is currently beyond 240k miles so far), and ODUB had put on well over 150k miles on his 2006 before selling it. Another owner just posted about hitting 200k miles in his 2006.

Deeznutz83 you are absolutely right. Its like this if you have enough funds to maintain the car and have it paid off then you should be okay providing that you dont beat on the car constantly because when something breaks on that car its going to cost.

Trust me on this its totally different from the honda side of things where **** is cheap and easy to find. The reality of this is parts for this car are very hard to find unless your on forums like this. Oh and whatever you do never I repeat never ever go to the dealer to get anything they will charge you out of the *** for a simple part. Also do not go to the dealer for even service try to do it yourself or go to a reputable shop that mainly deals with this kind of car.

Word to the wise when you do decide to go down and buy the car take someone with you who know how the car is supposed to drive and react. Last thing you need is to buy one with a messed up drivetrain. Ive seen it happen to people on here it is not pretty at all. Check its previous history through carfax to see how many accidents it has been in.

Never buy the car from the dealer if you can help it always go through a private seller. If you have to finance the car you can forget it unless your bawling like that. Between 450 to 700 dollar a month payments you can forget about trying to enjoy yourself especially if something breaks and you miss a payment. Thats why I brought mine in full crashed knew what to look for and fixed it up.
