Looked at an 06 mr today

I noticed that the turbo manifold heat shield was missing which leads me to think it has been removed before. The car has 38k on it. How would I go about testing how much it had been abused?

it can be pretty hard to tell sometimes. i would start with checking the wear on the tires, that may be indicative of how it was driven.

Also take it to a shop that does evos for a PPI. They can tell.

Check the fins on the radiator, if they are bent and dingged, thy might have swapped turbos.
