Well I as the title states I am new to the forum. I am looking to pick up an Evo 8-9 while I am here on deployment. I am pretty much into everything fast enough to do something stupid.

 

ive never heard of an "evo 8-9" but good luck trying to get one where ever you're deployed to. how are you going to get it back home?

 

Wow I hope you have a helmet on at all times. English lesson for you, "Evo 8-9" the (-) is another way of saying ( OR ). Secondly last I checked there aren't any evos floating around in Afghansitan. Thirdly did it ever occur to you in that pea brain that A: I would come home at some point and B: It is quite possible to send someone that I know from back home to look at it and pick it up?

It's terrifying that you have a DL <----( thats an abreveiation for Drivers License) hopefully you aren't breeding.

what do you have planned for the 8-9 as far as upgrades?

 

I dont plan on wasting my time, i am just not going to be talked to like and idiot.

Just mild mods and tune nothing really crazy. I am new to imports so it will take some "homework" on my end.

First off welcome to the site, and THANK YOU for your service I have much respect for military people and you be safe out there in afcrapistan (if that offends anybody sorry) hopefully all you guys will be coming home soon, my cousin just came home he already did a tour there and a tour in Iraq and I think he may even be going back in a few months. BTW WW is wicked white, you are correct sir.

As far as the Evo goes, just be patient and watch what you look at and dont settle for a piece of crap, I looked at I believe 9 or 10 before I finally found mine, it was bone stock outside of a turbo timer. If i were still looking i would try and find one as stock as possible, that way theres a chance of it not being abused as much. there are some differences from year to year like 03 and 04 dont have the ACD which is the active center diff for tarmac gravel and snow, and the IX are the only ones with MIVEC (yes I know the X has it but Im talking about the VIII and IX). There's some more differences but all in all theyre all awsome cars, Just make sure you very picky when buying one or you can get burned. BTW my GF lives in WV not too far from Ohio, if im ever in the area 1st beer is on me . Good luck to you and be safe out there and may St Michael watch over you all.
