yea im on the hunt for an evo too. im deployed will be back at the beginning of the new year, wont be my first car tho. gl with your decision

im 17 and im going for it as my first car when i get the money, i believe im responsible enough to handle it. so go with your gut feeling, good luck with your decision.

 

Just to play devil's advocate, I think that's what all 17 year-olds say. I've never heard one admit that they aren't responsible enough.

 

I got my 2006 IX MR when I was 16:/ I will prolly get grilled for it from some people. But it was my money and still is my money. I will do what I please with it. And you should to. But the way I looked at it. Just respect it. It can kill you alot faster then most cars. The just mo.

I also got my evo when i was 16...now 20! But as long as you are responsible then I don't see why you couldn't have it as your first car.

It's not that bad of a first car...put it like this...it's only a Mitsubishi, lol...

I bought mine new so I don't have to deal with the problems at an early stage. I know 2008's have a bunch of problems, which could be pricey and annoying.

 

It's an amazing first car! But it really depends on your self control and how much you value your possessions. This sounds crazy but I got my Evo at 17 with 350whp. It was $19k and plenty of parents buy there kids cars for that much, I just went with the Evo because I've wanted on ever since I saw one as a kid. I'm now 20 and my car is fully built making 700whp and is immaculate. I worked 3 well paying jobs and did online sales to fund my build and value and take car of my car obsessively. I don't regret it at all and am glad I went with the car I did. In a performance aspect, the Evo is the best value for your money
