Hey,
I might soon be getting an evo. This is a very newbie question but when should I be changing all the liquids in the car like oil, LSD, transfer case, gearbox, coolant. I would like to change these myself. What kind of oils should I get and how often should they be changed?

Go into the Evo General forum and check out the scheduled maintenance tables & fluid part #'s sticky. Gives you all the info you should need. I believe engine oil is every 3-5K, all the drive train fluids should be checked every 15K and changed every 30K. But many people on here (me included) change them more often than that. Sticky will also give you fluid recommendations for everything as well.

 

Here's my schedule, but you can use the fluids that you prefer:

oil and filter - every 3k - AMSOIL 0w20 with oem filter
tranny - every 15k - oem tranny fluid
tcase - every 15k - oem lsd gear oil
rear diff - every every 15k (manual states every 30k) - oem lsd gear oil
coolant - every 30k - Prestone 50/50

I also clean the MAF with every oil change, and I SeaFoam the intake manifold at least once a year. I went back to Iridium spark plugs, so I'm gonna change them once a year.
