2006 MR NEWBIE < hood grille >

HELLO evo owners! My name is Akeem! I just bought an 06 evo MR.. its everything I have been searching for in a car. I previously used to drive a early model 3 series bmw with aspirations of turbo charging it. I finally came to my senses and sold my 92 325is coupe for this Mr. so i am not happy to say that I am over bmws.

? 1st question ? Hood Vent and the Rain >>> is it necessary to cover the hood grille while the car is seating in the rain.. if so where can I find a hood grille vent cover. eitherway I was going to make one wither i need one or not. so lemme kno

This reminds me of Subaru n00bs and the hood scoop.

You don't need any cover for the vent. Rain isn't going to hurt anything under there. I even took the louvered panel from the inside off and drove and parked all over in the rain and never had a problem.

In short, don't worry about it.

I have driven around in some Florida downpours with the underhood vent removed and had zero issues with rain

I use degreaser and a hose to wash my engine. Cover the air filter and never had a problem.

It might just get a little dirtier. I have mine off, but Ill most likely put it back in for the snowy seasons.
