yeah i figured it out thanks!!

So the machine shop (Buds Machine Shop in Lakewood, wa) I had my long block at bent my starter plate, broke my Crankshaft angle sensor AND another sensor that goes into the back of the block! So i went down there today and got my **** back and i'm just keeping my stuff until i have all the parts for the project. I've looked into a different maching shop called PED. The guy at the shop (bud) said that he's not replacing any of the stuff that was damaged.. Also i'm going through either English racing or Pina motorsports, any reviews or anything from past customers???

so here's what i've had collected so far...

Good luck on the build.
Post some pics, i'll help you out. The head swap I did had no heater core, I got lucky with no coolant lines!
Wrong about the coils, that bracket holds the Alternator and the plug for the crank sensor.

Well found out some stuff about the head swap, it's not a direct swap and all done, easy stuff...
The Evo 8 head swap parts list says you use the evo 8 timing belt.... WRONG!!! You use a '94 Galant gs dohc 2.4l... part # MD182292. The evo 8 belt is 168 teeth, where the dohc 2.4l galant belt is 169 teeth (it is MEANT for a DOHC 2.4) the evo 8 belt isn't long enough to make up for the extra deck height (22mm)
Also you gotta use the Evo 8 water pump and make an adapter plate OR just modify the gasket to work with the evo 8 water pump.

The evo 8 timing belt will work also its just a little tricky. And you can just use the 4g64 water pump with the evo 8 rear water pipe.

I like this project. I wouldn't mind doing this whole head swap/turbo install on 06 galant with the same 2.4. I would do a manual tranny swap as well. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys. it's been a while since i've been on here but i have ALL my aftermarket internals now, about to have everything machined and assembled, i'm also p&p'ing my cylinder head and knife edging it. i'll post some new pics here in the next couple of days. Okayplayer: my eclipse is a 5-speed manual bro lol

project has kinda changed plans though; originally i planned on putting a garrett gtx3582r turbo, ets turbo manifold and alot more but i've realized i don't have the time to have my car parked for another year while i save up money so i'm just doing a factory evo 8 manifold and 9 turbo. any advice on what i should buy aftermarket and what would be okay to use factory when it comes to evo 8/9 turbo parts. **wanting around 300-350whp** <--- if that helps with advice LOL

Ok so your forsure going to use the stock evo 8/9 exhaust manifold? If so be prepared to use exhaust manifold spacers or have a manifold made to fit but if you don't care about looks go with the spacers be a lot cheaper lol

ah **** the manifold and turbo don't clear my starter or something like that huh? damn..... i am actually VERY picky about looks. i don't want a big thick spacer between the head and mani. Will a aftermarket turbo manifold clear my starter and/or block??? i was going to buy a ETS manifold that was $1,200 but i don't have that kind of money to constantly drop k's on my car ya know? oh and here's some up to date pictures btw. I got some new racing seats too :P

love this build man i am am planning on doing the same swap on my lancer ralliart then doing the awd swap. but are our blocks the same i have the 4g69 motor 2.4l pretty sure its the same block just different head. also what are you going to use to tune the dohc head in are you going to go standalone or what? and i know it might be a pain in the *** to ask but anyway you could get a parts list together and post it up. this would be the best how to out there if you make it one man and GL hope it all goes smooth.

Alright guys sorry i havent been on the forums in a while. So my motor will be back from the machine shop here in about 2-3 weeks and then its assembly time for everything. Ive been somewhat low on funds so im not going the gt35 route right now but i got a factory evo 9 turbo with the manifold and its damn near brand new also got a tial bov got my intake manifold all polished, got my wiring harness almost wired up for the evo 8 injectors and resistor pack. Been working on routing my battery to the truck and the car is up on stands about 3 foot off the ground :Pim currently looking for a evo 8 oil pan and a factory fuel pressure regulator. Im also looking for a evo 8 ecu and some 3 inch dp... Okay i know most of you guys would say no dont do it but im curious about the ebay obx downpipes... Theyre like 60-80 bucks, even come woth a flex tube and mounts right up to factory o2 housing with donut gasket.. Is there something im missing about why theyre so cheap? Also i know people say those ebay manifolds crack... Will they still crack on a factory turbo and how long would it last do you think? Any experience buying ebay exhaust stuff guys? I just hate the factory manifold lol.
