The Evo 8 head swap parts list says you use the evo 8 timing belt.... WRONG!!! You use a '94 Galant gs dohc 2.4l... part # MD182292. The evo 8 belt is 168 teeth, where the dohc 2.4l galant belt is 169 teeth (it is MEANT for a DOHC 2.4) the evo 8 belt isn't long enough to make up for the extra deck height (22mm)
Also you gotta use the Evo 8 water pump and make an adapter plate OR just modify the gasket to work with the evo 8 water pump.
This belt topic has been beat up numerous times with the 4g64 block in the evo. The tensioner takes the slack out of the belt, it doesnt matter how long it is. Just because the deck is higher doesnt mean anything, the distance from crank pulley, in a circle around the cam gears is a fixed distance, it does not matter the length of the belt.

I'll take some more pics when I get my motor back and start assembly those will be the better pictures! guys like I said in my last post im looking for a factory fuel pressure regulator, im looking for a evo 8 oil pan, and also in need of a intercooler; but i'm leaning more towards the ebay intercooler universal kits, are those intercoolers any good? im not trying to take the cheap route I just can't afford $600 for a stupid intercooler because it's just a name brand. are the bar&plate ebay intercoolers really junk? or do people just not want them because theres not "AMS" or "ETS" plastered across the front? also curious about those ebay 3" downpipes what's wrong with them? I don't understand why people don't take these offers they just say they're junk with no explination. heres the links to what im looking at

okay so im not doing this to be like "oh what should I get" Im just showing you guys what I PLAN or possibly plan on getting so you can tell me if it's absolute junk and WHY or if it's good and decent. I mean manifolds crack, I get that... but how long are you saying it will be until this manifold cracks? a week? a month? a year? if it's a year or two or more that's not even a big deal but as for downpipe, I see no reason to spend 400-600 on a name brand downpipe if this is just as good.
