New girl!
I have plans for the EVO except Im really trying to focus the majority of my "mod" spending on the VR4 as it is so close to being done. I'm a true "built not bought" enthusiast hence why Im desperately searching for a stock one. At first I would like to do the small things, ie: exhaust , intake FMIC, lowering, etc. I had a set of EVO8 wheels that I had on the vr4 that I am regretting that I sold =/
Anyway, I know I should search this, but is it really worth it for me to search for an MR or no?

Personaly, I say forget the MR, the 6 speed tranny isn't as stong as the 5 speed, not to mention there seems to be a TON more options for the 5 speed when it comes time to building it. Also, you're going to be hard pressed to find an Evo that has not been touched, you MIGHT find one that was RETURNED to stock, though. Most Evos will have atleast an exhaust and an intake at the VERY least. Again, this is just my opinion, but the "built not baught" mentality only works if you fab your own parts, again, that's just my opinion. Oh, another opinion, don't waste time with lowering springs, just get a good coilover set.

Thanks Toxic Fab! I see youre in MB SC! Im originally from Beaufort =]
Zerokei- Thanks for the input, coilovers, yes thats what I meant when I said lowered lol. When I saw built not bought, I mean it as I do all the work, I dont buy it already built and call it my own. Thats just me =]

Yeah, I'm just giving you a hard time. I get what you're saying though, I was lucky to find my Evo with a brand new factory engine in it, I've been the one to mod it the way I want it, nothing on this car has more then 20K miles on it except the body.

I have a 06 MR stock 6spd and clutch, the tranny is fine at 400awhp 373 awtq but the clutch is not very inspiring, 25kmi on the clock. I bit the bullet and am just going to do a 5spd swap when I do the clutch.

Unfortunately ToxicFab isn't located in MB, haha. I used to live there & still own a house there though. Beaufort is a nice area, I stayed there for a weekend once while I was in college. We went into Savannah for the day/night for the St. Patty's day ridiculousness...haha...

Welcome Carla! Good luck in getting an Evo! Any photos of your 'VR-4? I'm also 'old school' with a 1989 MITSUBISHI Starion ESI-R and my Evo which is a 2006 Evo IX-MR as my daily driver. Cheers!

Obviously I am not a fan of the MR why I bougth an RS. Any way you look at it and evo is an evo and I am sure you will be happy with whatever you buy.
I agree, I mean the MR has some pros and cons. Pros it has better suspension, cons it has a glass filled 6 speed as it was once put to me, heavyier car etc.

True enough, I guess the suspension would be a plus, but if you plan on changing it, I think the OP said they wanted coilovers, it kinda ruins it's 1 of few pluses the MR has.
Again, you're right, an Evo is an Evo, I'm sure the OP will be happy with one too, atleast, I hope so.
Also, +1 on the RS @OP: I had a dodge stealth twin turbo at one point converted to look like a 3000GT, great fun cars. I bet you enjoyed the heck out of that car, I know I did. Felt like I was cheating when i had AWD with AWS. lol
