New guy on the block
New guy on the block
Hey guys I've been lerking around the forum on and off for a while. I just recently sold my Nissan R34 a month ago so I am in the market for a new car. I also just recently had a little boy so a coupe just wouldn't cut it. I'm going back and forth between a bunch of cars and the Evo IX and X are 2 of the ones I have been considering. The car will for the most part be a daily driver but also something to have fun in. It won't be heavily modded like the skyline was but a few simple things will def be put on.
Are these cars good for daily use? Also what are the pros and cons of both cars? I'm also still not sure about the looks of the X.
Any opinions would help

My opinion is you shoulda sold your R34 to me, heck, I woulda traded my Evo for it
lol
If you're looking for DD to xport your son and everything back and forth and want a good clean ride, go with the X, the VIII and IX are a bit more of an animal compaired to the X.

An animal in what way? I'm not looking for a baby transport just something with 4 doors and AWD. DD it to work and have some fun in the show and on the weekends
I've driven both, quiet a bit, well, all 3 if you seperate the evo 9 - 8. Evo's 8 and 9 have a more raw feeling to them, when I am in them, I feel like I have more of a connection with the road and the car. When I drive an Evo x, it's so much smoother and feels more like a luxury car then a real Evo.

If having better traction and not feeling everything like you do in a racecar makes the X less of an evo...then I'll keep my "luxurious" pamper car...I think there's something missing here.
As I do agree that you can't feel every rock you hit on the road in the X and it is a much smoother ride, I wouldn't say it is any less of an Evo than the others. There are problems with holding power in the X but they make progress every day with the 4B11T's bringing us that much closer to a "real" evo for those VIII and IX guys.

The skyline had a built motor, GT40 and around 600whp. I'm not honna be doing that this time well atleast I'll try not to haha. I initially was looking into the IX but heard from a friend they aren't built as well as other cars and the stock parts. I'm not saying its true I'm just asking you guys because you would know better than me

If your not looking to do heavy mods my vote would be a 4 door 335xi
TTurbo and awd very dd friendly. Evo's are kool but if you are looking for a grown man whip with power and awd 335xi is where it's at
Flame suit on

The 335xi is a bit out of my price range. I'm looking at 25k max. All of the 335's are $25k and 70k miles. I don't want something with miles like that. I'm not looking 100% for a "grown up car" just something with 4 doors and awd
Just got back from mitsubishi. I looked at the grey X and it was really nice. Looked nice up close and felt nice inside. However, they wouldn't let me test drive it. They said there are only 3 in the inventory and unless I'm about to sign they don't do test drives.... What a waste of my time
