Why did you guys get an Evo over an STI?

Hey fellow evoist. Just got my Evo ix mr fully stock with 18k miles three months ago. And i couldnt be happier. I've been getting some grief from my friends for getting an Evo rather than an STI. I'm curious as to why you guys picked the EVO! Thanks

In NZ, similar MY STIs are 5k cheaper than evos. There's a reason for that.

Evo any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Sti is just a little more comfortable but lacks in everything else.

Evo stops better, turns better, is more reliable, is easier to get more power out of and easier to work on.

anyone giving you grief over it is simply demonstrating their ignorance.

it's also a more exclusive club if that matters to you.

PLUS no-stress hand brake turns (I don't know if STi can do that or not), ACD, launch control.

I love driving my stage 4 WRX but when I grab my real recaro steering wheel with it's ridiculously quick ratio and feel how fast that twin scrool spools from an inline 4 rather than the boxer .... well ... wow.

for ***** out, no compromize performance it's Evo. I think STi is a more refined DD.

I drove my buddys 05 sti with a few mods. Made 400/400 at the wheels (somewhere close anyways). The parts were super expensive on it. While it did handle great and the car felt ok during driving, I was just not happy with it. Felt slow for the power it was making.

Few months later I found my 04 drove it, and with 300whp (ish) it felt tons faster. Plus I am a old school DSM guy so I have had alot of experience with the 4g motors and what they could do. Easy choice.

I'd drive a 911 any day of the week.

I bought the evo because I think it's easier to work on. Parts are cheaper. I think it looks better. Makes more power with less money, more reliable. I like the feeling of the car more, like the seats more than the awkward blue(ix). Seems to be fast no matter what you put it on drag, autox, road course. It is fine to drive everyday. haha i love my evo.

indeed. haters suck. just because Evo edges the STi in numerous ways doesn't make STi a "pos".
