What do you think of this car?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/2755165759.html

Doen't "500 whp" seem way too high?
Would this type of turbo be very laggy?
MR tranny ...how could it hold this power if it isnt upgraded?
The guy said it had like 30k in upgrades, but said he was a dealer who bought it at auction and did not "know much about the car."
Thanks

The car looks extremely clean and has a lot of top notch part's!

Tranny will be on borrowed time unless somebody has gone thru it..But the car only has 22k miles

If you could get it for 24k you would be getting a lot of car

I would jump all over this. I paid alot more for my IX bone stock. He has alot of big named parts on it. Id say as long as the car runs good its good to go. You can always do a boost leak test and other checks before purchasing. But as it looks right there, its something I would def be interested in.

The guy said it had like 30k in upgrades, but said he was a dealer who bought it at auction and did not "know much about the car." How comfortable are you with a wrench and how big is your fix-it budget?
Thanks

Okey-dokey

If reliable means that a car starts and moves, can I ask if you came from the SRT4 world?

It all depends what your looking for? You can put that money towards a more stock evo 8, 9, or even 10. Unless your looking to just make big numbers and you plan on tearing it apart anyways, I'd keep looking. Seems like a legit deal so if you do scoop it congrats but I'd def take a look at what YOU want out of the car all around.

Hope this helps!

Reliable meaning everything functions the way it's meant to, the car runs/drives with no hiccups, etc.

Yes I've owned an srt before, what does that have to do with anything?

1. So it's "not AS reliable as a brand new car, or some of the other cars on the road," but it functions the way it's meant to. You mean it is meant to be less reliable on purpose? News to Mitsubishi.

2. How could you possibly know whether it has a hiccup or not, whether if functions the way it's meant to (whatever that could mean in this context), when it's not your car? Oh, wait, you can't.

Let's not miss the point. We have someone here looking for an Evolution. Telling him that a modded to the hilt 500whp car (bought at auction, no less) will be reliable is somewhat irresponsible.
