The sun roof is also off the track I was wondering if that is an easy fix to fix the sun roof. Also I offered 12500 he came back with 13000 I'm really stuck at 12500 don't want to spend more than that what do you guys think good deal bad deal be honest also has 76xxx miles

Sunroof might be easy to fix. Most likely the three motor bolts are loose, that happened to mine.
thats good to know thank you
also he failed his inspection and the report says it has a check engine light for a detierorated catlytic converter because hes not running one but no check engine light is on. im gonna go check it out again with scan tool and check the readiness monitors. and worst comes to worst ill have to buy a cat. im hoping like i said im gonna look more into that.

Stock evo 8 cat is gonna cost anywhere from 100 to 150 and you can buy one from one of the guys here on the forum. Plus shipping 25 to 30. Got mine around here. So tell the seller to go down 200 for the cat.

yeah but its got an aftermarket exhaust... so stock wont be able to be fitted gonna have to get an aftermarket 3" race cat im guessing $$

Depends on what style the aftermarket one is. If its a test pipe, its likely the same length. Or if u wanted to keep the test pipe, you need the mid pipe with the adjusted o2 bung. Ive known a couple ppl whose sunroof bolts just loosen themselves and fall out.

My exhaust was aftermarket 3" and all I did was buy a cat and replace the straight pipe. Passed smog and went back to same set up. I did buy a racing cat I believe it was a helix racing cat. I didn't pass smog with it and now its just collecting dust. But it also depends were live at. I am sure you know here in Cali we have the strict emission laws. I would get a stock cat and that way I don't have to jump any extra hooks.

sounds like a good deal, but you should bring it to a shop and have them do a leakdown test first, be4 you buy the car. i can't stress that enough... at least you will know if the motor is strong or beat!!
im going to see it again tomorrow im gonna run a compression test on the motor and check out the car with a scan tool see if any codes have been reset ....pending codes obd monitors yada yada. also anything else i should look for is there any rust problem areas i should check out?

a compression test won't tell you enough... i got a story for u 'saabskijc' my boy bought an evo 25k cash! he brought to a shop and did a compression test be4 he bought it. he thought everything was good... he added a few more mods and be4 tuning it, the tuner wanted to do a a compression & leak down test.. well the compression test was good, but the leakdown was bad... now he's spending crazy $$$$ to redo the block. i mean it;s your money, just take a lil advice and spend the lil extra money and do the leak down test as well.. at least you'll know how healthy the motor really is...b
Didn't see that befor 'sir' but I did the compression test it ran 155psi across the board. I drove it and I bought it so I hope everything is ok fingers crossed. But I am now the proud owner of a 2003 tb evo.
