Hello. Just researching the evo 9's..

I am wondering what the cruising rpm's are in 5th at about 75mph on the 9 SE and 6th in the 9 MR.

Cruising RPM for my SE at 75 is around 3500. I believe the MR tachs's about 300 RPM lower than the regular IX. I usually try to stay right around 70 on the highway and that's about 3200-3300 RPM. Really not a huge difference between the two of them.

 

Thanks for the reply. That sounds right on par with my current 95 wrx. Trying to decide if I should go MR or SE. If that's how the 5spd is I might as well go with the 5spd.

Might as well go with the 5spd by the looks of it.

 

Just don't drive like an idiot and the 6 speed works great... any way the crusing rpm shouldn't be your selling point

 

Yes that is true. However I do a lot of highway driving. So if the 5spd was going to be revving at 4k at 60mph I wouldn't have bothered with it.
