Switching Over to the Dark Side
Switching Over to the Dark Side
Hey Guys,
I've always been an Evo fan, but... I bought an WRB 2007 Sti in 2008 and have been sporting the Subbie flag ever since.
My car has every suspension upgrade you can think off, every stock location turbo bolt on that is out there.
Currently rolling on Gold Re30's and making 350whp on a dyno dynamic dyno.
I track the car as often as I can. Even with all the suspension modds I am still not satisfied with the way the car handles. I also crave more power however the weak boxer block is close to it's power limit on the stock block.
Tired of being the under dog at the track compared to Evo's. I am finally lowering my Subaru flag and making the transition to the Dark Side. The Mitsu World!
My Car is currently being parted and put up for sale.
I will be looking for a 2006 Electric Blue Evo 9 in a couple months or sooner depending on how long it takes to sell my car.
PM me if you have an EB Evo 9 that you would like to sell. Preferably the western side of the US.

Well for starters burn your flag also....welcome to making power with minimal bolt ons. Here in colorado springs there is a eb 9 for sale at a dealer named mccloskey or something like that.
Good luck on finding a good evo...not being sarcastic lol.

How much power are you making on your black?
Thanks for the EB find. I hope my Sti sells quick so I can start some serious car hunting.
Congrats, you won't regret it. The only thing I miss about my STI is the boxer rumble and the side profile of the car. Other than that my Evo is head and shoulders above my STI in performance with pretty much the same mods.

-Also good luck with your Evo hunt; I'm sure you'll be able to find a clean car, just be patient![/quote]
truer words have never been spoken. trying to get a IX that is not been hacked to hell takes a minute thats why I ended up with an VIII.

Some Pic's of my soon to be Ex-STI.
She was good to me but, the time has come to go our seperate ways.
Evo's are the darkside because they are evil fast! Besides the Force, (Forced Induction) is way stronger on the Darkside.
Spend top dollar trying to get as clean as evo with a good owner history as you can find. Don't go for the cheap ones in the 13-16ishK range. Any money you save you'll be spending twice over trying fix the previous owner's incompetence. These cars can become a mess with owner neglect.
Also, recalibrate your shifting strategy. There is no such thing as a bulletproof drivetrain in the evo world.
For all the advantages the STi may have the evo is still king.
