New to Evos, Questions.

Hey Guys,

I have loved Evos for a while, always thought the 8 and 9 were like my dream daily driver, just never had enough money for one. I think I'm going to start looking to buy one within the next year, and I was just wondering if anyone had any tips, or threads on here that could help me out.

What I'm looking for is like just some general "what to look fors" when im going to actually buy one, maybe threads that explain the different trim levels and such, and opinions you guys might have on them. Open to pretty much anything, and just trying to gain some general knowledge. Thanks guys!

Good luck guys.

Wikipedia helps.

Depending on the year and model 8,IX,X the terminology is different for the trim levels.

Used to be :
RS-stripped down no power accessories(alu roof)
Gsr- standard w 5 (steel roof)
MR- 6 speed, bilstien, rims, etc(alu roof)
SE- MR trim but with 5 speed

I'm sure there are more differences, I just can't list them all at this time.

Its good to find some one local who has one and pick there brain, I did and helped me make my choice of the MR. also if you find one, look up the maintenance history, that was a hidden cost I didn't see when I bought mine, my fault for not checking. Anyway good luck with your search. Oh and find a local shop that knows Evos maybe they know some one selling or can check one at a dealer for you so your not getting hosed on a poorly maintained one.

If you can take it took a local shop that is on here and deals with these cars, since your in Linden, you could always go to Ivey Tuning with the car (as long as the seller approves, and if he doesn't he could be hiding something). Have Ivey run through the car and give it a quick comb over, and get his opinion.

But take the selling price and add 2-3k on top for maintenance, when you first purchase the vehicle. (Fluids, boost leak, compression tests, etc)
