Thinking about trading in my Evo IX for an Evo X.
I see a big debate coming up.... I think it is all a matter of opinion, and mine is that I love them both. I would be more than happy with either and they both have their advantages and disadvantages, and they both look sexy as hell.
They are similar but quite a few things are different; timing chain instead of belt, intake and exhaust mivec, coil on plug set-up, alum block, engine 180deg rotated, slightly diff. x-fer case and rear end, option of dual clutch trans, and the X's do carry a few extra pounds around (shame the US didn't get the RS version
). But those are just my .02.

When the Xs first came out, I remember seeing a lot of guys going from 8/9s to a 10. After a few years passed, it seems a lot of people are selling the 10s and getting back into an 8/9. your call. I personally cant get comfortable in a 10. The way the seat is placed with the armrests on the door and center console is terrible. It just seems like the seating is all wrong lol. The seats themselves are comfortable though.

Maybe down the road I'll buy a used '10-'11. I can think of a few other cars I'd rather own over the X though so we'll see.
As suggested above go drive one see if it's something you could give up your IX for.
