Well, I've driven a 97 Eclipse GST for about 2 years and I recently sold it planning on buying a nicer low mileage GSX. I'm having a very hard time finding a car and a friend of mine works at a local dealership and has access to their wholesale lot. A black 2003 Evo 8 (clean title, 3 owners, 130k mi, 100% stock) showed up there. The price is $8700. Does this sound like a good deal? The car is on hold it's going to be smogged and safety checked this week. Thanks for any opinions. I'm looking forward to using this forum. I've been lurking for about a week now and this one seems great. I normally use DSMtuners as I owned a DSM.

Thats a great price assuming it checks out and has a clean title.

 

It sounds fairly low priced.... is it clean? Body and engine bay? PICS! 100% stock is thumps up, but doesn't mean it wasn't beat on for 130k miles. Could need a tranny rebuild and be low on compression who knows. It also could have been taken care of and serviced regularly and be a steal of a deal!

The car is clean title. It's very clean only one small dent about the size of a quarter on the roof and the clear coat on the cf spoiler is bad. Those were the only issues I could really find with the car. I car faxed it and the first two owners had it less than a year each and the third owner had it over 7 years and was a older fellow. I'm getting pretty excited, I was not expecting to get a evo at all when I sold my GST.

 

Thats the cheapest I have ever seen an evo VIII that has no problems. (supposedly, not saying they didn't tell you that and that it doesn't seem to checkout but dealers are sneaky bastards better be careful)

 

Well, I actually used to work there lol. I know it is very cheap which is how it fell into my price range. It can't go onto the lot because it has too many miles so it went to the back into the wholesale section and because I know someone who works their I have access to the lot. It's being smogged and safety checked tomorrow so I hope that goes well. Car fax showed that it passed smog in November so I don't see it having any issues.
