hello EVOLUTIONM

New to evom. Name is eric and I've only used this site mainly for information but now I've decided to join the bandwagon. I drive an ww 03 evo8 with basic bolt-ons and cams. Not sure how much power I'm making yet but hopefully I can fix all the issues with the car and go for a dyno tune.

Thanks guys.

Issue 1 - I have a megan downpipe with the 'flex' elbow (not sure of the exact namee but here's a pic of it http://i43.tinypic.com/20ieuqq.jpg ) is creating an exhaust leak.

Issue 2 - I'm having some sort of missfiring problem. As I start to increase my throttle to go WOT the car kind of sputter as if a small backfire. If I go slow and gradually throttle I have none or minimal issues but when I try and floor it the 'sputtering comes in'.
I had this issue before but I had already resolved it. Solution was bad coil packs so I swapped them with a lower mileage evo and problem went away but now same thing and I highly doubt its the coil packs again and spark plugs are in good shape to.

And last but not least a re-tune. Thing that sucks is my tuner is about 2 hours away but he has my full trust when it comes to my car.

Ill write up a mod list when I get home later today.. not sure what power I'm making as of now but hopefully around 350+

Ok... as of today, mod list is
-full 3" exhaust (pieced together unfortunately from megan downpipe, unknown brand testpipe with built in resonator, Espiler catback)
-buddyclub cams 272/272
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-hallman pro manual boost controller set at 22 psi
-3"perrin front mount with stock intercoller piping (upper&lower)
-steel braided front brake lines
-slotted rotors
-exedy HD stage 1 clutch with exedy lightened flywheel
-AEM full gauge setup (AFR,boost, oil pressure)
-greddy full auto turbo timer
-no intake kit yet just the cutout mod on the box filter housing

Tuned on a conservative tune by Evan smith of ESTUNED

I have an aftermarket O2 I've been waiting to install just havnt had any time and a new brake line setup (upper & lower)

Nothing has been ported and my original plans and still are is to circuit race but I don't want to buy all kinds of crazy upgrades yet until I get my feet wet on the track so I can improve in the areas I need most.

Future plans are to upgrade into an evo9 turbo, coil on plug setup, rear differential mod, and new coilovers.

I used to have a Espelir JGT500 exhaust and loved it. If you ever want to part with the Megan DP, I'm looking for one.

As soon as I can buy a new one ill be trashing that one. It has a leak at the flexpoint where all the steel braids are. I'm not sure if its even possible to fix but if you really want it I could let it go for cheap seeing as how its defective. Ill keep you informed

Ya the catback sounds amazing! Only downside is that its mean for the jdm rears and I'm not a huge fan of those (waaay too common) retails for 1400 (old price) and bought it for $175!
