Thinking of buying an Evo

Hey guys I found a 05 Evo with 90k on it for 19000$ at a dealer. Evo is stock in great condition. The mileage scares me so I figured I would ask you guys what you thought.

Too much money for that mileage. You should be able to get it a lot cheaper. There was an 05 with 90K near me a few months ago that a used car dealer was asking 13,900 for.

That actually doesn't sound like too bad of a deal for a IX. You'll rarely find one for that price that doesn't have a rebuilt title. The mileage is a little high but if it was well maintained it should still have plenty of miles left in it.

I've seen Evo's go for cheaper than that with less miles up here. I would keep looking; waiting is only going to allow you to find a better deal. Hell, my 95 DSM has less miles than that.

Make sure you check the for sale section. Even if you have to travel to another state it would be worth it. Too many miles for that price imo.

Patience is a virtue when looking for these cars. I've missed one or two good deals recently on an evo due to people jumping on the deals. My advice, have your finances lined up, questions ready to ask and lastly, do t be afraid to pull the trigger on the right one.

Evo 8's are selling for 10-15K (mods and mileage depending)

Evo 9's are selling for 15-22K according to my searches

*Still hate when people try to sell an evo with 10-15K in mods for 7-10K above private party. (*Off topic rant)

BTW a dealership is the last place you want to buy an Evo, but if you must for trade in purposes talk them down.

I tried to purchase a 2004 WW evo from a dealership. They wanted 17999 with 101,000 miles. Pulled the whole rare special car stuff. Took it for a test drive and the car jerked back at WOT and they tried to play it off like they didnt feel it haha. The damn thing needed a tune. Just be careful cause most dealerships don't know jack about these cars
