Hi everyone,

My name is Jay, I am new here and I am looking to purchase a new car, I am currently driving a 2003 Nissan Sentra Spec-V nothing on the car really. Just use it to go and back from work. I registered on here to see what you guys can school me on the EVO's. I always loved the EVO's and sounds so much better then the STI. But currently I'm just shopping and getting feedback on the EVO's and what they can do. Please let me know where I can start looking at for information.

Thanks!

Welcome to the community. What type of Evo were you looking at? The Evolution 1-9 has their own specific part of the forum as does the Evolution X. Within these areas, you will find all kinds of useful information. These include; General, Engine Management, Pictures, Suspension Management, etc. The possibilities are endless. There is also a Marketplace where members can post items/cars for sale.

Be sure to read the rules and they will answer your questions about the forum and browse around all the forums and start learning

well, currently I've like the style from the EVO VII's and up. But i am not sure if buying new is good option due to the fact that it cost a whole lot.

I am looking into a few options. but mostly considering the EVO MR

What price range did you have in mind? For 2008+ (Which are Evo Xs) you are looking at 24k+ or so. For VIII or IXs you are looking anywhere from 14-22.5k or so. Those are rough estimates and not by any means true. Evos hold their value very well.

I'm glad Evo's hold their value well. I am looking into something about 25K - 28 at most. But considering the fact that its used, i rather save a little and get the new one MR's. but at the moment, just shopping, and from this forum, it looks to be very friendly and i hope to learn a lot.

I've seen a few that sit flush on the forged rims. So sexxy .. just got me thinking what if i drove one of those :P

I just picked up my new 2012 MR and I love it. At the dealership they had a 2008 X MR for around 28k also, but in the back of my mind I just kept thinking that someone else has already ragged the engine on it before I would even own it.

Great cars, but a lot of power for novice drivers.

Dont buy one and kill yourself.

Buying used isn't always a bad thing. I bought my 2011 GSR with 8k miles for 30k after taxes and title and all that. But what promopted me to buy it was that the maintenance paperwork was meticulous. Oul/fluids changed at appropriate times, etc. Plus extended warranties and such are alkways a benifit. You most likely will not find a low milage VIII or IX that hasnt been beat up sadly. And I agree, X's flush on forged rims
