Should i?

So ive been looking at the particular evo and ive been trying to get finances for it and there is a possibility it might go through this time and i dont know to much about the evos trans/tcase problems all that stuff (i own a gst so i know nothin about AWD) so i mean the car seems solid to me just light mods like ported mani/hotside intake filter the normal stuff it has i think 77k miles? the price he wants is 15k i think its decently reasonable considering it has nice rims all that.

TLDR; im gonna buy an evo and i wanna know if i should bring it to a shop like AMS or Strictly modified to have it looked at before i buy it? i live within 30 miles from both shops so distance isnt an issue

There is a thread for these types of questions in the sticky section just so you know. I would bring it to the shop. Paying $100 or so might save you from buying $15,000 worth of troubles. If the sellerdoesn't want you to go to the shop then back out instantly.

to me, when an evo is 15k with moderate miles..its on the brink to disaster like the old saying goes you get what you pay for, was the 60k service done?..but defiantly spend the money on the inspection. GL

you looking at a 8 or a 9? and yeah for either, that price sounds too good for that mileage. My guess is somethings wrong with it unless the guy is rich and just wants to sell it quick. But yeah definitely take it to a shop to get it looked at

Ask for receipts of anything he claims hes done. Check tires, brake pads, the norm for any car. Have a shop do cylinder compression tests. And check for shaft play on the turbo.

Ionno 15k to 18k sounds right for a evo 8 to me.

One thing about this evo that kinda bothers me is it has one of the 7 inch led screens in the dash where everything else normaly is idk how much the oem trim and the other stuff costs for that
