Hi evom, this is my first post!

My car got hit last year and i've been looking for a car since.
my ex used to drive an EVO and I didn't think much of it then but my current bf has recommended me the EVO again.

So... I'm currently looking at this 2006 EVO MR but me and my bf are relatively new to EVOs.

I read the "what to look for in a used EVO" but it only covered the basics.
Is there anything the 2006 EVO MR are known for breaking/wearing?

btw, what is the inner most headlight for? I can't seem to put those lights on??
Is the inner lights day time lights?

It's the Fog light. Not many Evos have them any more. They came standard on 03 and 04 I think.

What mods are currently on it? Ask the seller. Your best bet would be to bring it to a shop and ask them to look at it. It's safer to spend the money to get it looked at by professionals then buy it without knowing and then have to worry about any problems the seller might have neglected to mention. Either way, stick with the Evos... you wont be disappointed.

Well basically you picked a good choice in cars. Evos are very reliable cars as long as you maintain them. Really there are not much they are known for to break. Just proper maintenance. Spark plugs, oil, 93 Premium fuel only, and drivetrain oils. I bought my evo with 100k miles and 400 Wheel Horsepower without a problem. If its stock its perfect, if it has mods done to it make sure nothing seems mechanically wrong with it. Hire a mechanic to take a look at it, check the oil. About the inner lights on my 03 they are the fog lights which is operated by a switch on the left of the steering wheel. Dont really know on the 06's.

fog lights huh? i will check next time i go there.

current mods on it is exhaust, rear bumper looks different then the others i looked at, intake has some kind of cf box around it.
when i test drove it, the clutch seemed really sporty feel to it (catches much higher than my previous car)
bov is louder than i expected. i will have my bf check this.

car seems lowered but from what i can see, the suspension stuff looked very ordinary (black struts and springs) unlike my previous car which was purple and green.

 

check the tires for uneven wear due to improper camber setup.

 

yeah checked the tires, the front might need some replacing soon.

 

i will post some pics up if i am able to purchase it this coming saturday.

Im in IL and ive never put on a front license plate never got ticketed or anything either i think plates in front are ugly just my opinion

 

Touche but i park in the city a lot and i know how those cops are in the city....

 

Yeah they are pretty strict in the city. what is the ticket anyway like 50-80?

 

I'd be like "hey girl"... and then follow you for a bit. Find out where you live and work. Find your favorite coffee shop...and "accidently" meet you there. And then see where it goes from there.....errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr or am I thinking of a movie. Hmm oh well haha im kidding of course. Evo looks very clean. Nice pick up
