Exhaust fumes in cabin

I have noticed that I get exhaust fumes in my cabin. I thought it was just under boost, but it might be just when the BOV goes off. Can a faulty BOV let exhaust fumes into the cabin? I have checked the trubo/manifold/O2 housing and down pipe connections and I see absolutely no soot nor do i see any evidence of a leak in those areas.

I called a friend and he mentioned the BOV being the next culprit.

Okay, Its not your BOV. And BOV doesn't not give a exhaust smell or Even connected to the cabin. You might have an Exhaust leak in your exhaust system after your down pipe. And are you driving with the windows down or even when the windows up you are getting the fumes in the cabin? But Like the other member suggested, You need to Provide more info on your car.

Sorry total noob mistake. Its a 2005 viii RS with stock BOV.
The smell is with the windows closed and vent open to fresh air.
With it on recirc i get no smell.
With the car on the lift we didn't see anything obvious like exhaust soot anywhere. Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to look a little closer.
For now I will run on recirc.
Its not a horriblly over powering smell btw, just more annoying than anything else.

Thanx ,
Jake

Have you checked on a cold day to see if there are any gasses leaking out that doesn't show via just looking at it visually?

also if you use just a little bit of sea foam you would be able to find your leak aswell.

a bpv is in no way connected to the exhaust. seems to me like you have an exhaust leak somewhere.
