I had a GT3076R .63A/R on my stock 2L back in '06 and now have a SC6152RE .82A/R(nearly identical to the GT35R) on a built 2.3L, I prefer my current setup easily. Unless you're getting a newer version of the GT30R (GTX3076R or HTA3076R), I wouldn't bother messing with it.

Nice, sounds like an impressive set up! I was thinking the gt30r as well. Only thing is ill be running the stock 2.0 block, ECU (with a tune of course) and intercooler. Im trying to figure out if ill need a bigger intercooler, for cooling, and or some sort of AEM or stand alone management...

First ask yourself, what the car is for, and how much lag your willing to deal with. What are the current modifications to the car? That is going to play a big roll in which turbo to go with. It sounds like you have a lot of research to do, considering such general questions.

Depends what you like powerwise
^ for this guy the 35r works good on his 2.3l

but for a 2.0l you wont see spool till 4kish

Now with a green red 30r or bbk on a stock 2.0 youll have better spool down low but give up some top end.

really depends, I came from the vw world and we have full spool at 2k lol so thats why i chose a bbk full

stick to stock appearing.... better spool, easier to maintain, less to buy, and steathly

I have a DBB FB Black and love it

Thanks for the reply, Im running all bolt ons. cat back exhaust, test pipe, down pipe, injen intercooler kit with intake. I like the greddy line up of the gt30 and 35r. There proven turbos that have been run for years producing great gains. Can I run these kits on the stock block without any issue?

Interesting, Ive heard the FP line up is awesome and proven. Whats your hp gains from stock with your set up? I would like to get to 375-400. For this to be possible, I am thinking i may need bigger intercooler, exhaust manifold, cams and custom tune...

Does greddy make a 30 or 35r kit for the Evo these days?? I don't think anyone runs them if they do. AMS, ETS, Full Race, STM one of these are likely the favorites for T3 GT series turbos. The newer versions of them is what you would want to run, like stated above GTX or HTA, twin scroll setup would also be better and a ton more $$.

I would advise you to get the remaining supporting mods you would need/want first.

Cams/valve springs
Injectors
Intercooler
REPUTABLE TUNER

Running a 35r turbo on the stock block is doable. Upgraded rod bolts would be a good idea for some peace of mind.

Initially thats what I was thinking. Ive got 107k on the engine, thinking when it goes, I will do a 2.3 build for the strength and durability. Im leaning more toward the FP series. I have got alot of positive feed back on these set ups. Not huge gains but in the 375-420hp range. Anything more and im sure I would have to run upgraded ECU, fuel pump, injectors.

a green will do 550 whp...and will out spool the 35r...have more torque down low...be alot cheaper...the 35r only wins in highway roll racing or drag racing...if your only want 400whp the green is alot better choice...mine with 480 whp is detuned on the stock block...it will blow up all 4 wheels through the first few gears on giant star spec tires...one of the best street turbos...the bbk full or hks 7640 are also excellent for your goals

Wow! those are very impressive gains. There is a member on here selling an FP black for $1450 with 2500k miles on it. May go that route. Only thing I am not sure of is if I will need more supporting mods, like bigger intercooler, injectors, internal components. Im hoping I can achieve 400-475hp with stock block running exhaust, downpipe, test pipe, injen intercooler kit with intake, and a sensible tune with the stock ECU.

You must run at least injectors and a fuel pump. The 550whp claims of the green are a little high I think. If you can make that much would require E85 or race gas, double pumper fuel pump and at least 1600cc injectors. Stock pump and injectors are out of fuel at 350whp I think so you will need to upgrade them.

Ahh dude I'm close to that area you are talking about. Full bolts on with 255 fuel pump, 1250s injectors, Stock Evo 9 turbo, and E85 got me 355 awhp on a Mustang Dyno
With an FP Green you should be over 400. I plan on buying an FP Green for my VIII hopefully soon. If you go red or black you should be beyond 450+ at least I think

Aren't we all anxious for more power!?
