I have been into DSM's since 2006 and I've had a 97 GST, 91 TSi AWD, 95 TSi, and a rusty 95 TSi AWD
This was my first baby

Now I am about to trade in my 09 Cobalt SS for a 05 EVO MR...The evo has 86k on and appears to have an aftermarket FMIC and intake. I am going to pick it up sometime this week just waiting for the dealer to fix a few things, putting in energy suspension rear diff bushings(had a nasty rearend clunk) and they are going to take it to mitsu to get the ACD scanned and fixed(all three lights illuminate when car starts rolling) They already replaced a few MISC interior pieces(cigerette ashtray thing and ebrake handle) The only thing I am not sure about is that is does not have vortex generators, I thought all MR's had them it has the 6 speed and yellow struts.
I did a compression test on it and it was 151 158 158 161.

 

That is od. MRs all have the yellow bilsteins struts and the vortex generators. Check the vin to make sure it's an MR?

By the way I really like your 97 gst it's gorgeous!

 

Its has the yellow shocks, just no vortex generators. What can I look for in the vin to tell me which model it is. I have a carfax bit it doesnt say either way.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost positive that's not usdm oem paint for the '05 MR.

2009 Cobalt? So its the turbo one, correct? Those are pretty quick in stock form! Hopefully the EVO checks out for you!

 

Is it a 6-speed? That'll give you a pretty definite answer.

Or, call a Mitsu dealership with the VIN.

 

Yes it's turbo. It's got a tune and a few mods, it's pretty quick on the highway but no traction in 1st or 2nd.
And yes the evo is a 6 speed.

 

Called the dealer today, it is infact a EVO MR...Just missing the vortex generators and the original silver shift knob(has leather on there now)

 

I've always wanted a charcoal grey gsx sexy! hard to find too! if you love those you'll def love a evo, might I suggest finding a 03-04 RS if your planning on doing any drag. the other stuff is more well rounded for autox road race but you can use them for. The 6spd's are turds I'd stay clear of em personally man.

 

I found a 06 mr with 33k and one owner locally! The dealer is asking 21k in mint condition. Think I am going to have to go with that one.
