Hi all,

I haven't been a very regular member to this forum but I can tell that many of you guys are really well experienced and have a far greater knowledge on Evo's.

I am considering buying an EVO (here in AUS). It has to be either 7, 8 or 8MR which would suit my budget. My goal is to start the car as a project going into lighter mods, learning, experiencing and then move onto serious mods like engine rebuild, overall power and handling enhancements etc. Which out of these would you guys reccommend? I would want to keep the car for a long long time as this has been my dream car since I can remember. Any thoughts/suggestions would be helpful before I spend my money.

pretty much all the same car. the 5-speed will hold more power than the 6-speed (350-400 lb/ft torque is pushing it on the 6-spd)
