Looking to buy

I've got a little money saved up and am looking to buy an EVO VIII or IX. Is it possible to find a reliable low miles vehicle for around 20k?

I can post pictures of a few I find and hopefully it will help you guys help determine

it'll be hard to find a low mile under 20k, under 20k with fair miles would be more of a possibility, not modded would be just as hard as finding one with low miles, me personally i thik the ix's are better but the viii are probably easier to tune, good luck with the hunting, just food for thought, if i lived in the continental US and wanted another evo i'd be prepared to travel to any state to find a low mile non modded evo 9, good luck with the hunt.

I would asume a evo with 20k would be quite expensive. But just make sure you buy a un molested evo.

So, I should avoid modded at all cost. I havent seen but very few sub 50k miles, but they're $25000+

I bought my evo 8 for 22k with only 11k miles bone stock. Just takes time. Be patient.

I thought the red was probably a good deal. If I buy it will i need to do the 60k maintenance right from the start?

Sorry for double post but I think they're might be a little noticeable rust under the hood of the red evo. Am I just seeing things, or could that be a potential problem?

It's possible but really hard to find. My 05 had 22,xxx when I picked it up from the dealership and I hit 23K bringing it home. I paid around $20K for it. They are not the easiest to find, let me tell you that. But if distance isn't an issue for you like it wasn't for me, broaden your search by looking farther than where you have been.

It doesn't have to have 20k miles, im fine with 50k-70k, any more than that would turn me off. I think http://louisville.craigslist.org/ctd/3581850811.html is a nice deal. What do you think?

That red one looks really clean for an 03 for sure. I would be concerned if that's the original engine though, if it does check out your obviously coming up on the 60k maintenance which if you go to a shop is going to be highway robbery, probably close to 2k alone. Unless you know how to do that stuff yourself but either way its a pain. The manual recommends 60k or 6 years, which its probably past due. You dont have to right away but I wouldnt go hard on it until you do, unless you like staring at 20k sitting in your driveway.

Just be patient either way, dont impulse buy an evo or you can screw yourself over. Go test drive this beast if you can, looks legit imo
