Hello Evo community!
Hello Evo community!
Hello everyone!
I just joined up on this site so I can start looking into getting an 03 Evo 8.
I've been a DSMer for quite a while and owned a variety of Ecliples/Talons over the years but now with children I have decided it's time to retire my 91 Talon into a track car and buy something with four doors for my kid!
Obviously, my familiarity with the 4g63t motor makes Evo's a perfect fit!
If anyone has any first time buyers advice or general Evo advice, I'd love to hear it.
Cheers,
-Wil

Definitely do a search on the forum, the "first time buyer" advice is touched on a couple times a day. I just semi-recently purchased my Evo, so like with every other thread I'll give you my advice.
Figure out what you want. What style you want (8, 9, 10?) - what your price range is, are you willing to travel for it, etc etc. These are questions I asked myself although I was pretty dead set on getting an 8. I would get online and search, and search and just for extra measure search some more. Don't just stick to one website. Just google "cars for sale". Believe it or not I found my car on the 5th or 6th page of a google search on a random website. Also, you gotta look outside of where you live. I know it sucks and it will probably cost you a pretty penny to get your car home but it is so worth it, trust me. Go over the car thoroughly and make sure everything is how it's supposed to be. It always helps to have another pair of eyes looking at the car just in case you miss something. Good luck in your search!

UPDATE! After considering a multitude of different vehicles (I was originally going to just buy an old 03), I decided to buy a newer one. So I picked up this beauty last night. It's a 2010 SE with 20k miles.

I am liking it so far, it is the perfect car for me because it has all the performance upgrades of the MR with none of the interior fluff.
