Ive been wanting an evo since i was twelve and now its in my reach.

Im looking at this evo and was wondering what the community thinks its worth

First thing that stands out is the "repainted with flakes" I looked at a car with a flake paint job and the issue is on fixing any blemishes. Custom paint is extremly hard to match. If they didn't do a good job on the paint, all the panels made of plastic will crack and look like sheet.

Second off, that engine bay is pretty dirty. Chances are the owner didnt take real good care of the car. I would also be skeptical of a cosworth 2.3. Can he prove what it is? Who built it? How many miles since build etc. You will generally be better off buying a car from a well known evom member who has documented their builds on the site. Also, 20k for a evo over 100k miles is quite spendy in my opinion.

Like said before, how many miles since build? Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. And must pass the eye test!!

guy doesnt have any paperwork because supposedly the previous owner had done it. also it has overspray

 

When i bought my evo it was for $20k as well but it had 70k miles...he has a few mods which makes a difference but personally I wouldnt wanna buy an evo unless its stock, would like to add parts, mods, etc on it myself. but maybe thats just a personal pref.

 

Personally I would look for something a bit more clean especially if dropping $20k. For example I just bought my 2004 apex silver with SSL package and car has only 60k miles I paid 20k, which I think was a great deal, not to mention all the extra little goodies

 

Most definitely not $20k.. There's no way thats a firm price lol

I would pass on it. I paid 12 for mine in about the condition that one is in but stock and NEVER raced, only daily driven. And even that was questionable on my behalf

I've already voiced my opinion on this but after looking at those two links I'm even more skeptical. Find another car. There is a guy up here selling his AS that is built and MINT, would definitely be worth a look. (by up here I mean MN, lol)
