Prius to Evo GSR 2013 PART1

Well everyone, I have made the leap. I drove a Prius for the past 8 years - so I feel that I have done my part for the environment (that will be the first and last time that I mention that hybrid again).

I have been following the Evo for the past ten years and finally I'm in the position to own one. So, five days ago I went out and took the plunge.

First off, let me brief you on the psychology of this thing....that I have done. I work with a group of environmental ****'s. I couldn't share my excitement of my purchase for fear of retribution. So I didn't park in my designated parking space for three days as to not experience the wrath all at once. And then, I think that one of the green people that is truly tuned into the 'green force' felt a ripple and the jig was up -maybe they could smell the turbo juice..I'm not sure. But they knew. They all knew at about the same time.....CREEPY.

Old habits die hard. I tried to drive the EVO like a hybrid, constantly focusing on the fuel consumption - what a WASTE of time. This car drinks fuel but for some reason I didn't mind. Maybe it was the way it handles and yields to your every request. This EVO is like a drug that been calling me CONSTANTLY for the past five days. "Drive me" it says, and I comply WILLINGLY. And, I haven't even scratched the surface of what this thing can do.

PART 2 to follow.

Good for you for doing what you want, not what others expect of you.

I also keep a 1.6L Corolla for DD. I know the feeling when it's a nice Friday and I get to splurge.
Welcome!

Good on you. You'll love this car and you'll ask yourself why you didn't make the switch years ago.

Congrats and welcome.

I too took the plunge this month. 2013 MR. Every time I'm in the dd there is always a situation where I am saying to myself... "If I was just in my EVO...". Take the EVO and never any action.

wanna feel green again? Find some E85 made from cellulose, converting an evo to run on E85 is easy.

Nice writing style and screw your hippie co-workers. Just tell them its a turbo charged car so it's efficient :P

I've owned my evo for a couple months now and it calls me all the time still, begging me to take her out for a ride. I look at it when its parked in the back and I STILL think to myself "I can't believe that sexy beast is mine, ALL MINE!!!" :P
