http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antilag_system read this it is was als is and does. a backfire happens when some unburnt fuel reaches the ends of the exhaust and mixes with o2. the unburnt fuel cant ignite in the system because it has already used up the o2 during the combustion stoke. once more is introduced at the ends of the exhaust, bang... my car shoots some flames when shifting in the higher rpms when it has been beat on a lot

You do realize that hitting the rev limit cuts spark, right? In which case, you do realize you will have a fresh air/fuel mixture hitting a 1600 degree exhaust manifold, right?? In which case, logic will tell you it acts like an ALS.

I was speaking in my specific application, i only spit flames when i hit the rev limiter, and those flames are massive. With the SST i never let off the gas, giving me a solid bounce of the rev limit when i shift at 7.1-7.2k rpm. End discussion.

I just wanted to thank you all for providing me entertainment for this morning. Yesterday it was the "Stupid Low" thread and now this. Ienjoy laughing.

Secondly. You should not be "spittin' flames/hot fire" blah blah blah. Its a street car, get it corrected.

Interesting point with the als and cutting spark. While in theory I can understand how the end result might be the same (in theory), they, as it appears you know, serve completely different functions, get there by completely different routes, and the car is set up for completely different purposes.

But I digress....carry on. Vids or it didnt happen
